Hello all! I'm the Queen of Blades, and I'm a sanguinarian. I'm the co-founder of The Sanguinarian Swan Support Alliance, along with Persephone de Hades.
I was never actually interested in vampires growing up. I always loved science-fiction, horror in general and grew up in an Atheist household. By the time I had just turned 13, I was a 'regular' young teenager and all I wanted to do was hang out with friends, go to parties. Then my awakening happened. I thought I was going crazy. I spent many nights online trying to find answers, a group, anyone that could help explain what I was going through. I found bits and pieces, but there was a lot of metaphysical association with most groups I found. Coming from an Atheist household, it made me feel alienated and like there was nowhere I could turn to for answers. Then I joined a vampire community on Meetup.com and posted there for roughly a year - during which time I became very confused, and led to some bad decisions in my life.
I left the online vampire community, and decided to go my own way, discover answers for myself. Through completely unrelated means, I met several other sanguinarians and we would talk about our feelings, share experience and best practice. There was always one thing in common - they too felt alienated from the online community and had nowhere to go for answers. It had led to mistakes, some even accidentally injuring their donors as they tried to teach themselves. I often asked myself, why can't this sense of friendship and open forum for asking questions, sharing knowledge and experience be found online?
Fast forward to 2015. I was out of the community for over a decade, and I stumbled across vampire groups on Facebook. I saw people asking questions, and not a lot of answers. Not a lot of resources on how to practice safely; nor is there a community for sanguinarians, swans to simply come and ask questions, share knowledge. I wanted somewhere that the newly awakened could come to. Somewhere that if a kid out there like me was going through the same thing I did, they could find resources to help them through it, guidance. Support. I want there to be a safe place for young kids to go to without being pulled into rituals and a lifestyle. I also want somewhere for swans to be able to discuss the realities of donating and how to do it safely.
That is why I started this group.
Please feel free to ask me anything and I'm always available for any questions. The only bad question is one not asked. I will add more to this in the future.
